Kutuma Hotel & Suites

We recently stayed at Hotel Kutuma in downtown Montreal, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. It’s a small, family-run hotel connected to an excellent Ethiopian restaurant the owners also operate. You can tell they take real pride in their business—making sure every guest feels comfortable and cared for above all else. When we arrived, we were greeted by a gentleman named Adam, who was both professional and welcoming. He helped us with our bags and took the time to show us how everything in the room worked, from access using the keycard or security code to the finer details of our stay. He made a point of telling us to reach out at any time if we needed anything at all, which was a really nice touch. We stayed in their recently renovated executive suite, which was absolutely beautiful. The bathroom in particular was stunning—modern, bright, and clearly redone with great attention to detail. In the morning, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a choice of cappuccino, latte, or black coffee, served with a warm croissant, butter, and jam—a simple but elegant start to the day. We also had dinner at their restaurant, Nil Bleu, and it was incredible. The food, service, and atmosphere all reflected the same care and pride that made the hotel so special. I would highly recommend Hotel Kutuma to anyone visiting Montreal. I’ll absolutely be returning in the future and wish the entire team nothing but success—they truly deserve it.

We just spent a couple of nights at Hotel Kutuma and had an absolutely wonderful stay. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful — you truly feel taken care of here. Our room was beautiful, spacious, spotless, and so comfortable. It felt cozy yet luxurious, and we slept incredibly well. The attention to detail really stood out. The restaurant attached to the hotel was phenomenal — one of the highlights of our stay. The food was outstanding and made the experience even more special. Kutuma is a true boutique gem in Montreal. We loved the atmosphere, the location, and the overall experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special, memorable stay. Matt & Alisha

Had the most wonderful stay at this boutique hotel in Montreal. Amazing walkable location. The room was phenomenal, heated floors, jacuzzi, comfortable bed and furniture. There is a delicious Ethiopian restaurant downstairs that we enjoyed. Everyone that worked there was beyond kind and went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable, you could tell they really had pride in this hotel and wanted it to shine. Would love to come back.

Recently stayed here for one night while transiting through Montréal and had such a great experience! We ended up making it in very late for our reservation but the staff checked in with us to make sure we were still coming and made sure they would be staffed for our arrival, including valet service. They truly went above and beyond for our extremely short stay to the point that I will make it a priority to stay here next time I visit and have more time to spend in Montréal. Excellent service, the room was clean and extremely well appointed with a kitchenette and spacious bathroom. Great location for exploring the city as well. Highly recommend.

A wonderful boutique hotel with wonderful service! We were greeted by Adam who was an absolute pleasure to talk with throughout our stay and always offered us the most delicious complimentary coffee to keep us warm when we headed out for the day to explore. Also offered us free and delicious croissants in the morning! Rooms were spacious and updated nicely. The Ethiopian restaurant on the first floor is a must too! Food and service were top notch! Would absolutely recommend this place and hope to go again some time soon!

I had a wonderful stay! The room was very spacious and clean. The staff went above and beyond — they made me a to-go coffee when I arrived, kindly stored my luggage, and even offered coffee and a croissant when I checked out. The trip was short, but I’ll definitely be back. The location is excellent, with everything close by. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon in Montreal and we do not have enough nice things to say about our stay here! We stayed in the executive suite and wow - what a room! Absolutely beautiful and the view of Rue Saint-Denis with the golden trees lining the street was simply breathtaking. Our stay in Montreal was honestly so fun and the hotel was such a great find we ended up extending our stay by two nights - we ended up needing to switch rooms which honestly was so easy. Adam was wonderful and told my husband he would help bring our luggage to the new room and while we packed he brought us a plate of croissants, toast with butter & jam, fresh orange juice and cappuccinos. I mean honestly, so thoughtful! Adam really was a highlight of our stay - he was so kind, helpful and great to talk with! The restaurant the hotel is connected to was outstanding as well. This was part of the reason I wanted to book here! Nil Bleu is the name and you can get some really phenomenal Ethiopian food here - you can even get room service from here straight to your room - I mean, 10/10! The area of Montreal is great too. We walked around a lot and found the hotel close to an area called Little Portugal which was full of great cafes, restaurants and places to grab a drink. We will absolutely be recommending this place to anyone and everyone we know that is looking to visit Montreal. A family owned place that is definitely full of love, kindness and wonderful people!

This is a belated review as we stayed here in November 2025 for one night while traveling to see family. This is an absolutely wonderful family-run hotel. The family who owns the place is wonderfully kind and generous--we were upgraded from a king room to the suite, which had been recently renovated. It was comfortable, very clean, with modern nice finished. The family who owns the hotel took care of everything--bags were brought up, our car was parked quickly and retrieved quickly as well. The breakfast was served in our room and was lovely: fresh juice, fruits, and croissants with jam. The hotel is conveniently located in the Plateau within an easy walk to many of city's best restaurants. We'll absolutely be staying here again in the future. Thank you for a great stay!
